Dr. Evan Ransom is an Ivy League educated and trained facial plastic surgeon. He is Double Board Certified in Head and Neck Surgery and Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. His practice is in the San Francisco Bay Area, serving patients from San Francisco, Oakland and the East Bay, Marin County, Napa and Sonoma, San Mateo, Los Gatos, Palo Alto, Silicon Valley, Walnut Creek, Danville, and all over Northern California. Dr. Ransom is a specialist in cosmetic, reconstructive, and functional surgery of the nose and septum. He performs surgery at multiple hospitals and outpatient specialty surgery centers in San Francisco and Marin County, California.
Dr. Ransom completed his undergraduate education at Northwestern University, outside of Chicago, and graduated with Honors in Biology (Neurobiology) with a strong research focus on neurological development. While at Northwestern, he co-directed the largest volunteer organization on campus. He then attended the College of Physicians & Surgeons at Columbia University in New York City. Dr. Ransom graduated with the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) honor for the top 10% of the class. He went on to complete his general surgery internship and head and neck surgery residency at the University of Pennsylvania, in Philadelphia, a “Top Ten” academic program and a “Top Hospital” in the United States, according to U.S. News & World Report. Finally, Dr. Ransom was selected from a pool of national and international candidates for a fellowship in facial plastic, reconstructive, and laser surgery in New York City and Long Island, New York.
Following completion of his training, Dr. Ransom returned to California to open a practice focused on aesthetic and reconstructive surgery of the face, nose, and neck, as well as non-surgical rejuvenation of the face. Dr. Ransom is an attending surgeon at St. Francis Memorial Hospital and California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco, as well as Marin General Hospital in Marin County. He is the author of over 30 medical studies and textbook chapters and has given numerous lectures at national meetings. Dr. Ransom’s rhinoplasty practice includes cosmetic rhinoplasty for patients of all ages, reconstruction of complex defects of the nose resulting from Mohs surgery, repair of nasal fractures and trauma, and functional nasal surgery to improve breathing.
In his free time, Dr. Ransom enjoys international travel, reading historical and science fiction, watching baseball, hiking, cycling, playing tennis, rock climbing, and snowboarding. Though it is increasingly difficult to find the time, Dr. Ransom loves to draw and paint. He makes sure to visit art museums and galleries wherever he travels, at home and abroad.
